Compliance

Your responsibilities as a vendor.

Vendor compliance is your responsibility. Each vendor at Cortland Farmers Market is solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining all licenses, permits, and registrations required by Ohio law for the products they sell, where applicable, for collecting and remitting any applicable sales tax (Trumbull County combined rate: 6.75%), and for proper product labeling. Liability insurance is required for food-truck vendors, recommended for food and consumables vendors, and optional (but encouraged) for low-risk makers. Proof of any required licensing and insurance must be on file with the market and produced on request. Vendors without complete, current documentation will not be permitted to sell.

Sales tax: Some items sold at Cortland Farmers Market are subject to Ohio sales tax (6.75% in Trumbull County). Most food sold for off-premises consumption is tax-exempt. Tax handling is the responsibility of each individual vendor.

Application form

Tell us what you make.

Five minutes, plus a couple of photos by email. We read every word.

All products must be grown, raised, or made by the applicant. Be specific — crops, breeds, batch sizes.
Space, accessibility, setup, neighboring-booth needs, etc.
Social handles, website, word of mouth — anything that helps us cross-promote.
After you submit, email your certificate of insurance — required for food trucks, recommended for food and consumables vendors, optional for low-risk makers — and an optional photo of your booth or product to vendors@cortlandfarmersmarket.com. Not sure if you need it? Apply anyway — we'll talk it through.

Booth fees must be paid at least 48hours in advance of the market. Submitting this application does not guarantee a spot — you'll be notified by email if you've been selected to participate.
